Prospective Students


ASSA is the office that will provide academic support and development to you throughout your career as a student athlete at UCF. We offer a wide range of services that are focused on helping you as the student-athlete be successful in the classroom and ensure that you leave UCF with a meaningful degree and prepared for life after college. We work closely with coaches, campus faculty and staff, and the athletics department to help ensure your holistic development in the areas of academics, athletics, and becoming a mature individual ready for the next steps in your life.

Orientation

  • Communication from your ASSA advisor prior to arrival on campus
  • Assistance in registering for classes at orientation

Weekly Meeting

  • All incoming students will meet with your advisor weekly to go over the following things:
    • Recent Grades
    • Upcoming Assignments
    • Time Management
    • Study Tips

Study Hall

  • Mandatory for all incoming undergraduate students
  • Monitored environment
  • Computers available for student use, with free printing

Progress Reports

  • Mandatory for all students
  • Twice a semester sent out to professors for academic updates
  • Encourages student/professor interaction

Travel Letters

  • Given to students to provide to professors or emailed directly to professors at beginning of each semester
  • Includes days that class will be missed, and university policy on makeup work
  • Tool for students to work with instructors on a plan to make up missed assignments

Awards

  • The ASSA office works to help nominate students for Conference and National Awards including:
    • Academic All American
    • NCAA Woman of the Year
    • Academic All Conference
  • UCF Awards include:
    • Scholar Athlete of the Month
    • AD’s Honor Roll
    • Order of Pegasus
